Mr. Gordon Query, Columbia, SC, businessman and Moderator of the ARP General Synod, has asked that each member of every ARP church consider the discipline of daily Bible reading.  He quotes Deuteronomy 8:3b and Matthew 4:4 as the basis for his request: “One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  (New Revised Standard Version)  Daily Bible Reading guides are available on the Tower Narthex Information Table.

All Sunday School teachers are reminded to turn in their completed attendance slips to Jim Adams or the church office each Sunday morning so that the numbers can be posted in the record book.

A native of Long Beach, CA, Dr. Heinsohn grew up as a performer in various circuses as a trapeze artist, a clown, trampolinist and on the horizontal bars until the age of 21, when he felt the call to the ministry while a student at Erskine College.  After graduating from Erskine Theological Seminary, he served as minister of the Hickory Grove and Smyrna, SC, ARP Churches and later was appointed by the General Synod as Denominational Evangelist. He then served pastorates in Pennsylvania and California in the Presbyterian Church, USA and also as Associate Professor of Religion and Philosophy and College Chaplain at Grove City College, Grove City, PA.  He returned to the ARP Church in 1986 as minister of the Doraville Church in Atlanta, GA.  In July of 1990, he was appointed Chaplain of Erskine College and Erskine Theological Seminary and in 1993 became Professor of Preaching at Erskine Theological Seminary. In 2001 he was named Interim Pastor of Providence A.R. Each year is a new beginning … a golden dawn on the horizon of life.

Riches are the least worthy gifts which God can give us … yet we toil for them day and night, and take no rest.  Therefore God frequently gives riches to foolish people, to whom he gives nothing else.
